Lakomy claims all-around title, Region 3 wins team gold at 2025 Elite Team Cup

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (February 22, 2025) – Adam Lakomy (Roselle Park, N.J./Sunburst Gymnastics) of Region 6 claimed the junior men’s Winter Cup all-around title, while Region 3 won team gold at the 2025 Elite Team Cup Saturday afternoon at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

Lakomy put up a total of 75.600 to win the all-around crown, also securing the top scores on vault (14.250) and horizontal bar (13.150), and the second highest on floor exercise (13.450). His Region 6 teammate Alexander Noel (Nashua, N.H./Impact Gymnastics Academy) won all-around silver with a 74.950, followed by Region 4’s Eli Osuna (Toano, Va./Williamsburg Gymnastics) in third with a 74.000.

In team competition, Region 3 secured gold with a combined 438.800. The team of Andres Aranda (League City, Texas/Houston Gymnastics Academy), Joshua Hanny (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics), Kiefer Hong (Tomball, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics), Jesse Hanny (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics), Hunter Egan (Montgomery, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics), Nicholas Kosarikov (Spring, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics), Joseph Hale (Copperas Cove, Texas/Crenshaw Athletic Club) and Sean Armstrong (Coppell, Texas/Texas Dreams Gymnastics) also posted the highest team scores on floor (75.350) and parallel bars (73.900).

Region 5 was second with a 436.150 and was comprised of Maksim Kan (Muskego, Wis./Salto Gymnastics Center), Nathan Underhill (Oconomowoc, Wis./Salto Gymnastics Center), Peyton Boerner (Mayfield Heights, Ohio/Gymnastics World), Devin Gopaul (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Gymkhana Gymnastics), Shaun Smith (Lexington, Ky./Legacy Gymnastics), Tristen Nye (Strongsville, Ohio/Above the Barre Gymnastics), Daniel San Juanico (Montgomery, Ill/ Premier Gymnastics Academy West) and Anthony Ruscheinsky (Summit, Wis./Salto Gymnastics Center). Region 5 was the top scorer on pommel horse with a 71.750.

Rounding out the podium was Region 1 with a 435.200, also recording the best score on still rings with a 71.250. Making up the bronze-medal team was Bobby Haberstock (Henderson, Nev./Gymcats Gymnastics), Finn Grenstam (San Carlos, Calif./Bayshore Elite), Wyatt Reynolds (Simi Valley, Calif./Gymnastics Olympica), Max Morelos (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield Gymnastics Academy), Hayden Brown (Corona Del Mar, Calif./SKATS Gymnastics), Rome Whimpey (Morgan, Utah/Momentum Gymnastics), Nixon Miles (Simi Valley, Calif./Gymnastics Olympica) and Deano Roberts (Portola Valley, Calif./Stanford Boys Gymnastics).

The top seven scorers on each apparatus will compete Sunday evening for individual event titles. In addition to Lakomy’s top performances on vault and high bar, Noel notched the top scores on pommel horse (12.700) and parallel bars (12.750). Osuna was best on floor (13.800), and Haberstock was top scorer on rings with a 12.450.

Saturday competition continues with senior women taking the floor at 6:30 p.m. ET. The event will stream live on USA Gymnastics’ YouTube channel.
